Nancy Beardall

Nancy has been making costumes for almost 30 years. Predominantly making costume for the re-enacting, LARP and theatre communities worldwide. Nancy has made multiple costumes for opera companies, including English National Opera, Octagon Theatre and the Royal Opera House. Her work focuses on 18th and 19th Century menswear. She has made several pieces from earlier centuries and occasionally makes female costume too Nancy has an NDD in Fashion & Design and HND in Theatrical Costume Interpretation and in 2021 completed an MA in Historical Costume. Nancy shared her knowledge and expertise when she worked as a Visiting Tutor at Arts University Bournemouth for several years Nancy teaching BA Costume and Performance Design & Film Costume students the processes and skills required to construct costumes.

In October 2024 Nancy moved to Coda and in early 2025 launched her secondary business Sew Mrs Bee. Although still at the beginning of this venture, the potential to share her knowledge and skills with others to help them create their own bespoke wardrobe is an exciting prospect. She is currently teaching adults and children the basics of using a sewing machine as well as draft patterns for their own unique body shape.
